In the stillness of an Idaho winter morning, when the temperature sank so low that every branch crystallized into lace, a Great Gray Owl emerged from the silence. Hoarfrost coated the forest like a delicate armor, each needle of ice capturing the fragile beauty—and fragility—of winter itself. My hope that day was simple: to witness an owl framed by this fleeting phenomenon.
