Perched atop a tree in Yellowstone, a Bald Eagle surveys the landscape from an unlikely throne. The weight of the bird bends the very tip of the tree downward, creating a striking reminder that even the mightiest symbols of the sky remain connected to the earth beneath them.

Once pushed to the brink by habitat loss, persecution, and the widespread use of DDT, Bald Eagles have become one of North America's greatest conservation success stories. Their recovery stands as proof that when science, legislation, and public support align, wildlife can rebound from the edge of extinction.
